From 2012-2024 the Pushkin Summer Institute (PSI) offered intensive pre-college Russian language and culture programs for outstanding high school students. PSI had two distinct, but related programs: PSI Madison and PSI Abroad. PSI Madison was a five-week residential program on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. PSI Abroad, formerly a program of NSLI-Y, offered students a six-week Russian immersion experience in Daugavpils, Latvia. Both programs of the PSI aimed to prepare its graduates to be leaders in a global world.
